Craig and Karen try to obtain email addresses for all their customers as this gives them an extra form of communication and they use this method as a way to upsell.

Brett and Christine contact all their customers coming to the end of an introductory offer (in the 11th week) to try to upsell them to an ongoing subscription.

The technique Brett and Christine have found to be the most successful is advising their customers that they are coming to the end of the promotional period and that it will only be an extra $3 a week to stay subscribed. They have found that by avoiding the words “full priced” their churn rate has decreased.

This also provides the opportunity to offer combo deals (upsell) or give alternatives if a customer declines the full week, e.g. Saturday only.
